October Minutes

Nov 9, 2022

The October 20, 2022 meeting of the Mainville Sportsmen’s Club was called to order by President Denny Jaskiewicz at 7:00 p.m., followed by a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance.  Twenty four  members were present.  

President Jaskiewicz announced that the Board had appointed Mike Felegie, Jr. as Treasurer to serve out  the remainder of term left vacant by K. Hunsinger’s resignation last month.

Approval of Meeting Minutes:

Secretary Lingousky read the minutes of the September 15, 2022 meeting.  A motion was made by Jeff Thompson and seconded by Randy Hunsinger to approve the minutes as read. The motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:

Treasurer Felegie read the Treasurer’s report for October. A motion to approve the report as presented was made by Donna Romig, seconded by Randy Hunsinger. The motion carried.

President’s Report:

President Jaskiewicz reported that the food plots planted last month are growing. 

A demonstration of the proposed down-range warning lights was given. A motion was made by Ed Bergen to approve an expenditure not to exceed $5000 to install the lights. Motion seconded by Rod Bardo. The motion carried.

Committee Reports:  

Cowboy: 13 shooters

Steel committee reported 13 guns at their shoot.

Steel Challenge: 13 shooters.

Buffalo rifle: 15 shooters.

Practical pistol: 9 shooters

Rod Bardo reported $200 turned in from skeet and trap.

Grounds and Targets committee: Jim Cunningham reported on vandalism to the trail cameras: the plugs from the solar chargers were disconnected.  Jim also announced he is retiring from the grounds committee and new volunteers are needed.

Introduction of New Members:

Old Business:  

Denny will contact someone regarding the price and availability of the millings from the highway project in Mifflinville.  Also, a new hinge for the gate is on order.

Good and Welfare of the Club:

Randy Hunsinger reminded folks that they need to clean up after themselves after using the range.

Denny and Jim Cunningham volunteered to do Nov. meeting dinner.

Adjournment:

There being no further business to discuss, on a motion to adjourn by Bill Toth, the meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
