New Business:
In Director Donna Romig’s absence, Secretary Lingousky presented the information that the Early Bird Expo, which is held in January, has replied to Donna’s request for a club booth with an application for a vacant spot. As the expo goes over 4 days (Thursday to Sunday), the Club’s challenge will be to get enough volunteers to staff the booth for the duration of the event. Mel Bardo made a motion that we reserve the booth by the deadline of Oct. 1 if Donna will spearhead scheduling volunteers, and ask Donna to report the status at the October membership meeting. If we do not have adequate staffing by then, we will cancel the booth before the Nov. 1 deadline to withdraw. Jerry Von Blohn seconded the motion and the motion carried.
President Jaskiewicz announced that Sight-In Sunday will be held November 12, 2023. Denny proposed we advertise that new members who join on Sight-In Sunday will get the remainder of the dues year free (i.e. will not have to pay dues again until April 1, 2025.) Rod Bardo made a motion that we do this. Jim Cunningham seconded, and the motion carried.
Good and Welfare of the Club:
Denny and Curt will collaborate to do the October meeting dinner.
It was reported that long-time member Ed Bergen is in the hospital with health issues and Secretary Lingousky was requested to send a Get-Well card to Ed from all his friends at the Club.
Adjournment:
There being no further business to discuss, on a motion to adjourn by Jim Cunningham, the meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
